Who we are

Introduction

The Millennium Foundation mobilizes private sector support for UNITAID, the only global health organization to use the power of markets to deliver life-saving medicine to patients in developing countries. In operation since 2006, UNITAID today is a workshop for some of the most innovative products to combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. The Millennium Foundation creates meaningful corporate social responsibility programs to support these interventions and forge a global partnership for healthy markets and healthy people.

Eight of out ten HIV-positive children in developing countries have a future thanks to UNITAID’s work in creating a sustainable market for paediatric HIV/AIDS medicines. Equal successes have been achieved for malaria and tuberculosis medicines throughout the world. In a few years, UNITAID has proven that creating “healthy” market conditions can give manufactures incentives to invest and supply quality health products at affordable prices.

The Millennium Foundation works directly with top global industries to associate their brand with these compelling success stories through corporate support programs. UNITAID is a young organization that is now a crucial component to the global health ecosystem and a lead innovator in development aid. Companies that wish to support UNITAID can partner with the Millennium Foundation to develop a tailored philanthropic model that best suits the relationship.
