A pioneer in the innovative financing movement, Dr. Philippe Douste-Blazy is the Chairman of the Board of the Millennium Foundation for Innovative Financing for Health.
He brings unparalleled experience in medicine, administration, politics and international affairs to help the Millennium Foundation achieve its mission of creating a sustainable source of needed additional funding to achieve the three health-related United Nations Millennium Development Goals: Fight HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis; Reduce childhood mortality; Improve maternal health. Dr. Douste-Blazy has been a world-renowned leader in health policy for more than 20 years.
He has held multiple ministry positions with the government of France, including Minister of Health, Minister of Culture and Communication as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs amongst others.
